Why Alpha?

CONNECTION
Life is better together. Alpha brings people together from all walks of life who are curious about their faith. Each session starts with some time to eat, relax and get to know your table group.

CONTENT
Each session covers a different topic of faith. The Alpha episodes are designed to engage and inspire conversation. They’re about thirty minutes long and explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? How can we have faith? How does God guide us?

CONVERSATION
The last part of an Alpha is a chance to share your thoughts on the session’s topic and discuss it in your small groups. It’s an open and welcoming environment, no matter what your opinion. There’s no pressure to say anything, but the floor is yours if you do want to.
Who is Alpha for?
Alpha is for everyone, no matter your background or beliefs. Whether you’re new to exploring faith or simply open-minded about it all, Alpha is for you. We all bring different thoughts to the table, and at Alpha we want to create a space that’s open for everyone to find what faith means for them.
Can I Attend If I’m Not Catholic?
Yes! Alpha is for everyone, no matter what your faith background is. We welcome anyone and everyone.
Can I Bring A Friend?
Yes! We encourage everyone to invite their friends and family to attend Alpha with them.
What Will Each Class Look Like?
Alpha sessions will be held in Trinity Hall at Holy Trinity. Trinity Hall is located underneath the main church. Look for our Alpha flag, it’ll let you know you’re in the right place!
Each Alpha session will start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 8:30 p.m. Our agenda for each meeting will look like this:
6:30 – 6:45 p.m. | Welcome
6:45 – 7:15 p.m. | Dinner
7:15 – 7:45 p.m. | Alpha talk/video
7:45 – 8:30 p.m. | Small group discussion
Can’t make it right at 6:30 p.m.? It’s okay to show up late!
What If I Can’t Make It To Every Session?
Even if you can’t make every session, we encourage you to sign up anyway! All session videos are available online to watch on your own time and a recap email will be sent to all members after each week.
What Is Weekend Away?
The Alpha Weekend Away is all about getting away from the busyness of everyday life so people can connect with each other and connect with God. It’s the part of Alpha that many people say was the turning point in their Alpha experience. We consistently see hearts more open to Jesus and lives changed. And that’s why we do it.
Weekend Away starts on a Saturday morning and runs through the late afternoon (before dinnertime). During this time together, we’ll hear several Alpha talks focused on the Holy Spirit and spend time in fellowship playing games, praying and getting to know each other better.
