Outdoor Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe, located on the steps of the Community Life Center on Gilbert Street, will be a permanent outdoor devotional space designed to enhance parish life, strengthen Marian devotion, and provide a visible witness of faith to the surrounding community. The Shrine will balance beauty, reverence, safety, and long-term stewardship.

Our Lady of Guadalupe

The mother of our Lord Jesus Christ, who miraculously appeared to Juan Diego, now St. Juan Diego, a Chichimec peasant in 1531 on Tepeyac Hill in Mexico (now part of Mexico City). Within a decade of her appearance, over 15 million people in Central America converted to Catholicism. Our Lady of Guadalupe is the patron saint of the Americas.

This will be a sacred and permanent space for prayer, reflection, and community gatherings — one that will strengthen and serve as a visible testament to our faith for present and future generations.

Attractive and Adaptable: A Beautiful Shrine for Prayer and Reflection.

As this project moves forward, we invite those who feel called to be part of this special endeavor. Through prayers, support, and contributions of any size, our community can help create a lasting place of peace and devotion dedicated to Our Blessed Mother.

A Visible Witness of Faith at the Heart of Our Parish

We welcome every visitor into a sacred space designed to inspire prayer, reflection, and lasting spiritual connection.

Vision

A beautiful and reverent outdoor sanctuary honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe and enriching parish life through faith and devotion.

Design

Carefully planned features, durable materials, and welcoming spaces create a safe and lasting environment for prayer and reflection.

Legacy

The shrine will stand as a permanent expression of faith, inviting future generations into worship, contemplation, and community.

Features Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine will have!

Stations of the Cross

Bringing the spiritual pilgrimage of the passion story to life with 14 key scenes from the condemnation to the burial of Jesus Christ. The stations encourage active and thoughtful prayer in a welcoming holy place on our parish campus.

Permanence

The shrine will be constructed of durable materials such as stone and masonry, designed to last as long as the parish buildings. Its architectural character will complement and reflect the design landscape of Holy Trinity. This will be a timeless, permanent devotional landmark of our parish.

Safety

The shrine is designed with code-compliant handrails, conspicuity tape on the steps, proper lighting, and clear sightlines to ensure safety and visibility. Full visibility from the street will enhance transparency and discourage misuse. Gates will be installed to discourage after-hours access.

Low Cost Maintenance

Outdoor elements and the impact of the sun have been factored into the materials used, including the statue of Our Lady, the stations of the cross medallions, stains, and paints. Native plants will be placed in the planters and sustained using drip irrigation

St. Vincent de Paul Relocation

As we add a Shrine to our Blessed Mother, the St. Vincent de Paul Statue above the CLC steps will be refurbished and relocated to the church’s patio courtyard. This beautiful statue deserves to be placed in a prominent location, so parishioners and visitors can view it up close and get a 360-degree view of the children surrounding our patron saint.
